If You Don't Workout Your Crazy

Workout You Lazy Bum

If you don't workout your crazy, literally. What is meant by this is that if you have been working out for a good amount of time and then you miss a week you will start to lose a sharper memory, become negative, angry, and a little down. So many people are losing out on the benefits of weight training and the mindset it can provide. Set goals with everything, look at your life and the way it factually is and what you don't want it to be.

Free Drugs, Drug Free.

Studies have shown that a balanced diet and exercise can protect the brain and ward off mental disorders. Exercise increases endorphins.

Endorphins-

An endogenous opioid from the pituitary gland that blocks pain, decreases appetite, creates a feeling of euphoria (the exercise high), and reduces tension and anxiety.

After a few months of regular exercise, you develop an increased sensitivity to the endorphins (a higher high from the same level of endorphins), and endorphins that are produced tend to stay in your blood for a longer period of time.

I don't do drugs. I am drugs. ~Salvador Dali

Exercisers learn faster, have better memories, think clearer, bounce back more easily from brain injuries, and recover faster from surgery. They are also less prone to depression and age-related cognitive decline.

I'd like you to (after reading my hub of course) look up the highest ranked states for obesity and then take a look at the states with the lowest intelligence, you will find a very distinct correlation between the two. Fat slows you down, slowly kills you, darkens your outlook on life and let's face it, sucks.

Give It Five Minutes

Next time you think of skipping your workouts just think to yourself "Just give it 5 minutes." After you have been working out for 5 minutes, getting the blood going, and your bodies natural happy drugs have kicked in...you won't want to stop.

Great hub. I love the gym too and have been working out for 20 years, missing some time here and there during pregnancies, although I did still exercise in pregnancy. I suffer from depression and as well as maintaining my weight and keeping fit and toned, I find that the gym keeps me feeling great and enables me to cope with looking after my four children. I find that every year at xmas when I am unable to get to the gym for ages and eat more 'naughty' food than usual, I get really down and feel so blah. I also find it hard when my kids get sick and this stops me from getting to the gym. It really has been my saviour over the years and I plan to keep it up forever. I cannot imagine my life without it.
