Adrenaline Junkies
Adrenal fatigue is a somewhat controversial diagnosis and some traditional doctors might question it’s legitimacy. But, you and I know how that first cup of coffee starts out giving you energy leading you to need more and more everyday to get the same "attack your day" affects. If you wish for a swim in a pond of Starbucks ecstasy then you may be a victim of Adrenal Fatigue. “Adrenal Fatigue” is something a person experiences when adrenal glands are not functioning properly.
Symptoms of adrenal fatigue may not be easy to notice because the standard battery of blood tests would not show any abnormalities. Doctor’s have to take more into account how a person feels over the results of standard testing.
Adrenal Fatigue Symptoms
- Increased stress
- Lack of energy
- Depression
- Need more caffeine to even feel normal
- Crave salty foods, and sweets.
- Difficulty concentrating
- Low stamina
- Sensitivity to cold weather
If you are experiencing this type of fatigue you will not recover after extra hours of rest. The fatigue you experience will be the same at night and possibly worse when you wake up in the morning.
Adrenal Fatigue Solutions
You can improve adrenal gland function with the use of supplements like DHEA and B Vitamins but, the best way to give your adrenal glands a break is to ween yourself off of the caffeine slowly. If you simply stop taking all caffeine containing products you will really begin to experience the aforementioned symptoms above. Focus on foods that are low in sugar and increase your intake of foods that are rich in protein and essential fatty acids.
When you begin to drink coffee again or energy boosting supplements, simply use them on days you really need the extra boost.
